Recently I went into an A.C. Moore store and there was a lady crafting in the display area that caught my interest. She was painting glass blocks with acrylic paint. I’m new to crafting with glass blocks, so I asked her why she was painting them. She showed me that it would eventually become a snow man and showed me what I would need in order to recreate what she made . I decided to try my hand at it. It was similar to this project .
I took some liberties to make this project my own and had my little girl work as my assistant. It was a little time consuming, but this craft is relatively easy.
Supplies needed:
Two 8 inch X 8 inch Glass Blocks
One bottle of white acrylic paint
One bottle of black acrylic paint
Assorted foam brushes ( I like these best for painting – less brush marks)
Nicole™ Crafts Vinyl Rub-On 6 x 6 Snowman Face
Small Wooden Round
Directions :
- Using the acrylic paint and the foam brushes paint one block white and one block black. If you should choose to use the lights, only paint 3 sides of the black block. We applied 2 coats to make sure the blocks are properly coated
2. Paint the wooden round black on one side. This will be the brim of the hat. Let dry
3.Apply vinyl stickers to one side of the white block
4.Assemble all the pieces. White block on the bottom , wood in the middle and black on the top and you have your finished snowman. Should you choose to add lights to the hat area, this would be the time to do so through the supplied opening, and here we have a snowman
